An unfortunate twist
Divshare has successfully deleted ALL of my uploads, apparently due to the harrassment of FMP's Jost Gebers, who not only refuses to let out of print FMP records circulate among fans but also refuses to provide non-profit, independent radio stations with FMP material to play on the air. Why someone would want to put such a stranglehold on what can only be positive, healthy exposure for their artists' music is beyond me. Here's the e-mail I received last week.
Hi again!
Stop posting FMP releases both, inprint and oop!!
and again too your FMP link is wrong.
Correct is the following URL:
Regards Jost Gebers
It's upsetting to know that the person who manages one of the best and most exciting labels for improvised music has nothing better to do than troll the internet all day, and whose communication skills betray a depressingly bureaucratic personality.
I'll start reuploading things as soon as I can, working my way backwards from the last post. I discourage anyone else from using Divshare in the future, despite its nifty download-counter; you'll probably end up regretting the choice.

i recommend using sharebee for uploads. that way people have their choice of where they want to download from.
Greg Davis reads my blog?
!
too bad about divshare, they generally work well
seconding sharebee or mass mirror--they have their bugs but generally work well and since most deleters are lazy sucks, it works pretty well
apparently some record company sucks are lazy as well--if mr. fmp will get off his butt and do the artists the service they merit, he won't have to whine and there will be less of "his" precious content flying around the web--I personally have about a dozen fmp's in crappy mp3 that I'd cheerfully shell out for (and a dozen more that i wouldn't) if they'd get their production and distribution together
mr. fmp should also have figured out that nearly all the zanies like me who like this music are all over blogs like this and he is poisoning the well as far as his label is concerned--the free-jazz blog community is like one small incestuous family and word gets around fast
cheers, great blog (and btw, found the Live in Berlin '71 tucked away on my hd, thanks)
whine, whine, whine.
rrrrrr
jost gebbers ,should also know that there are people on ebay paying big bucks for cdr rips of out of print fmp lp's, yes people are selling vinyl rips of your deleted stock, and you are not making a cent, we dont understand your attitude most people who download from free jazz/improv blogs and love this music also spend a serious amount of money buying discs.
why alienate them.
you are no better than an antique dealer artificially bolstering the price of rare items.
you are making those dealers on ebay and amazon money at your own expense.
perhaps you jost are also selling cdr's eh, how expedient ,bypassing royalty payments to the artists themselves, clever.
this music has always been spread by word of mouth the point hideo makes is valid.
why persecute people spreading the word? allowing those who sell rips free reign.
so we fans who have bought fmp discs and lp's for decades are not even accorded the courtesy of a considered response, we are scum, parasitical vermin isn't that correct jost, and you the great pioneering jost gebbers , who
deigns to not even engage with pleibian parasites, feeling no need to put forward a considered view or to explain yourself.
you spend so much time ,on blogs one wonders how many albums you download per day.

"rotter," ha ha, nice word, we don't have such good slang in the usa. fmp needs to rethink their stance, for sure. keep up the good work.
herr jost knows what you guys sayin is true, that's why no answer - maybe he needs more time to imaginate his defense
